Stewart came over this evening for our weekly wednesday wine, dinner fracas. We decided to shoot the prep on my new mini video camera, dead cheap and pretty good. It was all going so well, Beth made a fantastic salad, Stewart put in a fantastic ice cream he blended made of vanilla, curry powder, and sugar, a combination which is unbelievably good.
Ate the salad, watched American Idol ( I know, but is entertaining) then whacked sugar cookies dusted with curry powder into the oven, figuring the ice cream would be done by the time the cookies were ready. whacked out more splosh and prepared for a genius dessert.
Then the power went out.
Solution?

A theory that the oven was heated enough so the cookies would be OK
Better phone our neighbour fran get her over to drink
She brings her dog rudy, he and Abbey go nuts running in a yard which is only a few mph from wind devestation
Light the candles and shoot the show anyway
